Sierra De Tramuntana

Sierra De Tramuntana

The Sierra de Tramuntana is a wild and beautiful area with many steep climbs, breathtaking views, natural waterfalls, monasteries and centuries-old pilgrimage sites. Not surprisingly, this diverse landscape was included in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage list in 2011. It stretches for almost 90 km from Andratx in the southwest to Cap de Formentor in the extreme north of the island. This wild and remote place is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty.

Horseback expeditions in the Tramuntana are not recommended for the faint of heart, the paths can be steep with steep slopes. Discover the ancient irrigation systems from the time of the Arab occupation of Mallorca and the dry stone terraces, built to create space to grow produce in a somewhat challenging agricultural landscape.

Those who wish to participate in these expeditions must be experienced riders with a very good level of physical fitness. We ride in small groups on often rocky and challenging terrain, sometimes it will be necessary to get off the horse and walk.

In the Serra de Tramuntana we offer shorter walks of up to 3 hours, day trips and expeditions that last several days. The level of luxury you require depends entirely on your taste. We are happy to book a package with overnight stays in mountain hotels or accompany us while we sleep with the horses under the starry sky.
